What is IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN)?

IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN) is a form of biofeedback that uses electrodes placed on the head to read brain wave activity and then provides a tiny electrical pulse to help offset fixed frozen patterns. The pause between pulses allows the brain to develop new neural pathways, increasing neuroplasticity, and thus gently resetting towards health. In essence it interrupts and offsets unhealthy patterns, and then allows a pause for the brain to naturally rebalance itself.

In terms of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), IASIS MCN helps to shift the ANS towards the ventral vagal parasympathetic state. This may be why people say they feel much calmer and more relaxed after an IASIS MCN session. To better understand the three states of the nervous system, please read through the information under the  Learn More Tab. We feel our best when our body is in the ventral vagal state.

Additionally, IASIS MCN activates the glymphatic system thus helping to remove metabolic waste. The glymphatic system is to the brain what the lymphatic system is to the body – the drainage and waste removal system. Engaging the glymphatic system to stimulate metabolic clearance helps to decrease the brain’s toxic load. Many people report feeling more focused and alert following treatment.

This combination of shifting towards ventral vagal parasympathetic and stimulating metabolic clearance could be why many people feel calmer and clear headed after receiving an IASIS MCN treatment.
